Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Codewright, operated by Black Beacon Studios LLC (“we”, “us”), collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we reasonably can.

What we collect

• Email address — to create your account and send you the sign-in link.
• Learning progress — which lessons and checkpoints you complete. Most of this is stored locally in your browser; if you sign in, some progress may be associated with your account.
• Subscription status — whether you have an active Pro subscription and a Stripe customer identifier. We do not store your card number, CVC, or full payment details — those are handled entirely by Stripe.
• Code you submit for AI review — the code and prompts you send are transmitted to our AI provider to generate feedback.
• Basic technical data — standard server and security logs (e.g., request metadata) generated by our hosting provider.

How we use it

• To provide and operate the Service (accounts, lessons, AI feedback);
• To process and manage your subscription;
• To secure the Service and prevent abuse;
• To respond to your support requests.

We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers we share data with

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run Codewright:

• Supabase — authentication and database (stores your email and account record).
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
• Anthropic — powers AI code review; receives the code/text you submit for review.
• Vercel — hosting and delivery of the website.

Each processes data only to provide their service to us, under their own terms and privacy commitments.

Cookies & local storage

We use your browser’s local storage to remember your progress, your session, and (if you choose) your own AI API key, which stays on your device. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Data retention & deletion

We keep account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing support@codewright.school. Some records may be retained where required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email above.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), scoped access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

Codewright is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes are reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
